Horicon Marsh is one of the best birdwatching spots in the Midwest—in fact, it’s been recognized as a Important Bird Area both in Wisconsin and globally—and great birdwatching opportunities can be found here year-round.
More than 300 types of birds have been recorded here, from common visitors to rare species rarely spotted in the state. Here’s a quick glimpse at just a few of the species you might see on your next visit:
